ABBIE WHITE

Abbie is a Tasmanian born, Brisbane-based abstract artist. She sells her work privately and through selected Australian galleries.
She grew up in her mother's art studio and has been painting and drawing all her life. Her works have been shown in numerous galleries, prizes and events across Australia. In 2025 she exhibited as a finalist in the Art to Art Unearthed Prize in Melbourne. Abbie has also been a finalist in the Revival Art and Design Emerging Artist Prize in 2024 and 2025, plus the Next Big Thing in 2024. She has presented her own solo shows in both 2024 and 2025 and was invited to join The Brisbane Art Co Collective to show at the Brisbane Affordable Art Fair in 2025.

Abbie paints to bring calm, not only to herself, but to the homes her paintings reside in. They are deeply intertwined with her own personal experiences through love, loss and human connection. She has a fascination with movement and our interactions with it and continually explores this through the use of fluid pigments. Her choice to use raw canvas with acrylic paint creates dreamy, evocative scenes, inviting the viewer to stop and exhale.
Where The Land Breathes
Acrylic on raw canvas.
90 x 120 cm
$2000
Inspired by a trip to the family farm in the Lockyer Valley, 'Where the Land Breathes' is a large-scale interpretation of a small painting done plein air. In a time where life can be overwhelming and chaotic, an afternoon sitting with the land encourages time to breathe and pause, even if only for a moment.
Here With Me
Acrylic on raw canvas.
100 x 150 cm
$2800
'Here With Me' brings together the vast landscape and its incredible healing power. There is space for stillness and unpacking thoughts, feelings and emotions. I find it curious that while you can be the only person around, you can also not feel alone.
